Matt and Chantal McGee
Matt and Chantal McGee moved to Cimarron, Colorado in 2004 to start Sonrise Mountain Ranch. The McGees have seven children: Maddison, Abby Grace, Rebekah, Eden, Zeke, Vivian Joy and Colson, two sons-in-law – Cole Fritz and John Weary – and two beautiful granddaughters.
Adam and Kim Turner
Kim serves as lead cook and Adam, in addition to his day job in Montrose, washes dishes and helps with the facilities crew when he can. They have two adult children who are married and live close by.
Nathan and Staci Schulz
The Schulz Family answered God’s calling in 2018 and have been faithfully serving year-round at Sonrise Mountain Ranch since then. Nathan is the Facilities Director, and Staci is an Assistant Cook in the kitchen. Their sons, Levi and Ayden, have served in
the youth and children’s program, on the worship team, and in various other areas around camp as needed.
Remote Staff
Brian and Shari Bouldin
Brian and Shari Bouldin have been friends of Sonrise for more than a dozen years, attending retreats and volunteering along with their two now-adult children. Shari joined the Front Office Team in 2022. She performs her administrative duties from their Colorado Springs home in the fall, winter and spring months, and serves full-time at Sonrise during the summer retreat season. Brian maintains his full-time position as a software architect for Hewlett Packard Enterprise throughout the summer at Sonrise, taking daily breaks to fish and help with Sonrise’s technology needs.
Meghan Brown
Meghan Brown's journey with Sonrise began in 2022 when she and her husband TC and their two children, attended Family Camp. Their time at Sonrise left an indelible mark on their lives, prompting Meghan to deepen her involvement by joining the Sonrise staff as the registrar in October of the same year. Based in Fairhope, AL, Meghan works remotely for Sonrise while leading at 3Circle Church, where she and TC lead the student ministry. They love to spend time together going to the beach or taking their pop-up camper out for the weekend, and they get to Sonrise as often as possible.
Becky Giovagnoni
Chris, Becky and their two kids attended Family Camp spontaneously when a spot came open in 2021, and then liked it so much they went back in 2022. After two life-changing summer experiences, Becky know if a position ever opened up, she wanted to work for Sonrise. In 2022, that happened! Becky works from her home in Colorado Springs as the Comm Lead, maintaining the website, drafting emails and any other communication needs. In her free time, Becky likes to cook, listen to podcasts, flip old furniture and write on her blog.

Joshua Alafat
Youth & Children's Program Director
Joshua Alafat graduated from Liberty University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. During his summers, Josh served as a camp counselor at Camp Homelani in Oahu and an intern at Sonrise Mountain Ranch. After graduating, Josh pursued his dream of performing at Disney, moving to Orlando where he portrayed iconic Disney characters, danced in seasonal parades, and performed in Fantasmic!. He later performed at Tokyo Disney Resort in both daytime and nighttime parades, Believe! Sea of Dreams, and Christmas entertainment. In his free time, Josh enjoys traveling the world, hiking, swimming, skiing, snowboarding, and playing board and card games.
Vivian McGee

Hey y’all! My name is Vivian McGee, and I am from Cimarron, Colorado! I just wrapped up my senior year of high school and am hoping to attend Baylor University in the fall. As of right now, I am working towards the field of Biomedical Engineering. I hope to work somewhere in the medical field once I graduate. In my free time I love working out, dancing, hanging with friends, or anything outside! I am so excited for all that the Lord has in store this summer and can’t wait for all the fun!
Grant Cheeseman

Hello! My name is Grant Cheeseman, I am from Colorado Springs, Colorado. I am currently taking a gap season from studies, but I am pursuing a degree in accounting. I am trusting God’s perfect timing in this pursuit. Most recently, I worked at the Cheyenne Mountain zoo as a day camp counselor for 4-12 year-olds. I love working with kids and seeing their energy and wonder! In my free time, I enjoy all things outdoors including golf, pickleball, track and hiking. I have cherished my time at Sonrise with my family and as a junior intern and I am excited to spend this summer with all of you!
Lilly Button

Hello all! My name is Lilly Button. I am 18 years old, born and raised in Colorado! I live in Cañon City with my big family! I just finished my sophomore year of college in the nursing program at CSU-Pueblo. In the future, I want to serve God and others through my nursing career, and one day start a family. In my free time, I enjoy playing games, watching movies, doing outdoor activities, and just hanging out with my friends and family! I am honored to serve you all here at SMR this year! I am excited to meet everyone and excited to see God work!
Lucy Melvin

Hi everyone! My name is Lucy Melvin, and I’m from New Glarus, Wisconsin. I’ll be starting my junior year of college this fall, studying surgical technology at Western Technical College. In my free time, I love being outdoors, especially running, hiking, and going to concerts. I also enjoy reading and cooking. I’m so excited for the opportunity to serve your families this summer and to continue growing in my faith. I can’t wait to meet all of you!

Hey hey! My name is Mayce, and I am from Colorado Springs, Colorado! I just finished up my freshman year at Moody Bible Institute where I am pursuing a Bachelors degree in Crisis and Trauma Care. I love spending time outside, hanging out with my friends and family, and doing anything crafty. I am so thankful that I get to spend my summer at Sonrise and I’m so excited to see what the Lord has in store for this season!
Carson Van Dyk

Hello everyone! My name is Carson Van Dyk and I am from Colorado Springs, Colorado. I recently finished a gap year program with Summit Ministries. I am very excited to have the privilege of working for Sonrise Mountain Ranch as I continue my walk with the Lord. I pray that my time at Sonrise will be informative, engaging, and will allow me to show the families coming to Sonrise good and practical ways of being curious about each other and about Jesus. In my free time I enjoy hiking, reading and writing, spending quality time with my friends and family, listening to music, playing board games and video games, and rock climbing. I am looking forward to meeting all of you this summer!
Noah Archambault

Hi, Everyone! My name is Noah Archambault. I’m from Colorado Springs, Colorado. I’m studying psychology at Colorado Christian University, and have one semester to go. I hope to one day work with the Deaf in counseling. In my free time I love running, playing ultimate frisbee, and doing art. I’m super excited for the opportunity to be at Sonrise.
