You may fill out a Retreat Waiting List form or email the SMR office to be put on a waiting list if there are no retreats that work with your schedule. You will be notified as soon as possible if a place opens for you.

The schedule for the following summer is usually posted in September.

The cost for a six night family retreat is $670 per adult and $190 per child (with a $2100 maximum fee for each family).

This fee covers the entire retreat from dinner the first evening to breakfast on the final day and includes a private cabin for each family, all meals, and programmed activities.  A non-refundable deposit of $500 is due with your registration.

Marriage retreats cost $340 per couple which covers the entire retreat from from dinner the first evening to brunch on the final day and includes a private cabin, all meals, and programmed activities.

A non-refundable deposit is required when you reserve your retreat and the remaining balance for a family retreat is due March 31. Marriage retreat fees are due at time of registration.

Cancellations before March 31 for a family retreat are refundable minus the deposit fee. Cancellations after March 31 are not refundable.

Cancellations less than 21 days prior to a marriage retreat are not refundable. Rescheduling a marriage retreat less than 21 days prior is considered a cancellation and payment cannot be applied to a future retreat.

If you cancel a Ministry Leader Getaway less than 5 days before your arrival day, a cancellation fee equal to one night’s stay will be charged.

Due to pet-to-pet interactions, and the comfort of all our guests, we do not allow pets to accompany you to Sonrise Mountain Ranch.

Because of our cleaning schedule, arriving early, or staying late is not possible either before or after a family retreat. It may be possible to arrive early or stay late for a marriage retreat. You may check the availability with the office staff.

Meals are served buffet style in the lodge on a set schedule. Fresh fruit is available between meals if snacks are desired. Sonrise staff is available to assist families with young children through the buffet line.

Each cabin has a kitchen equipped with refrigerator, range, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and basic cookware. If you have special dietary requirements or restrictions, you may request a menu prior to your retreat. If modifications are necessary, you may prepare alternate items in your cabin to bring to the lodge for group meals.

Due to health department policies and the needs of our kitchen staff, preparing or reheating alternate food items in the lodge kitchen is not an option.

Reheating items can be done in your cabin or in the children’s programming area located in the upstairs of the lodge.

There is no Internet service in the cabins. Limited wifi is available in the lodge.

Each cabin has two or three bedrooms, kitchen/living area and is supplied with linens, blankets, and towels. Each kitchen is equipped with refrigerator, range, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and basic cookware

There are no phones or TVs in the cabins. Also, there is no cell phone service at SMR. You may use a phone in the lodge if needed. You may also leave the lodge number as a contact number while you are here. The office staff will forward incoming messages as needed. The SMR phone number is (970) 249-5774.

The curriculum and activities are spread throughout the entire retreat so leaving early or arriving late is something we try to avoid. We’ve found that not only does it cause your family to miss out but that it can hinder the development of relationships with other families.
