Sonrise Mountain Ranch’s mission is to grow Great Commandment, Great Commission families – families that love God and love others, families that are devoted to being like Jesus and helping others to be like Him.
If you had to describe your life in one word, what would it be? If “busy” is the answer, you are not alone. Couples and families from all parts of the United States are experiencing busyness at an unprecedented level. The busy, overloaded life tends to put couples and families into a survival mode where they have little time and energy to assess how they are investing their life and if changes need to be made.
The over-scheduled and hurried life can have dramatic effects on what we care about most. Our relationship with God begins to wither. Relationships within our family are sucked dry by an endless array of commitments and extracurricular activities. Relationships with other Christ-following families never grow deep roots because they are choked out by the rest of life. We can be surrounded by people but effectively living in isolation.
An increasing number of people are recognizing this phenomenon and are yearning for something different. They are seeking deeper connections within their family and with others Christians and are willing to consider life changes to make room for these crucial relationships. Families are pursuing growth in these relationships not only because of Christ’s command to “Love one another” but also because Jesus said “All men will know you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Francis Schaeffer spotlighted the importance of our relationships to the watching world: “Our relationship with each other is the criterion the world uses to judge whether our message is truthful – Christian community is the final apologetic.”
Sonrise Mountain Ranch is committed to helping you and your family experience these relationships as God has designed so that we might help others come to know and follow Christ. May our families be known by our love for God and our love for others.
Our goal is that:
- Families will wholeheartedly respond to God’s call to live for Him.
- God will dramatically deepen the relationships between the families.
- Families will return home with great enthusiasm to walk the road of life together, helping each other become more like Christ.
Our secondary mission is to provide pastor and missionary families a place to refresh, rejuvenate, and have outstanding family time.
